I'm planning on bringing in alcoholic beverages within the duty-free allowance when I move to Ireland. I will, of course, declare it. My question is - even though, say, up to 4L of still wine is allowed duty-free, will they still demand that 23% VAT be paid on it?
I'm planning on bringing it in via checked luggage (I'll post about that separately), carefully packed of course, and I'll have a list of items I'm bringing on my person.
