Hello Everybody,

Moving to Galway in june.  I need to buy a decent used car right away.  But I have a strong preference for an automatic shift.  I've done some online searching and find almost nothing advertised.

Any words of wisdom on where to look will be most appreciated.

Thanks, Ed

Where have you looked, Ed? We didn't have much trouble finding automatics in Cork.  We were limited in tha we needed a bigger car for a few kid car seats, but autos in general seemed easy enough to come by. Obviously manual transmission is still the #1.

Have you checked all the usual spots online - autotrader, cars.ie, etc.  It's worth checking some local listings too.  Lots of their cars for sale are on the auto websites but not all.   We used Kearys in Cork, and they brought a lot of cars over from the UK, many of which were automatic.

Thanks Liam. I have been watching the postings in advertiser.ie. There is usually just a handful, but for the past few weeks, only one auto shift has been listed.  Thanks for the additional suggestions. I will check those sites.
