Hello guys!

I’ve been agonizing over this for the last few months, trying to figure everything out.

I am a Canadian citizen and my partner is an Irish citizen, originally we intended to get married here in Ireland but I’m not gonna lie, the whole marriage of convenience interview I need to have has got me really intimidated. I was just wondering, if we got married in Canada (it’s a far more simple process in Ontario...) would that marriage be recognized in Ireland and would I still be able to get permission to remain with my Irish spouse? Or am I better off going through these scary interviews (I read the possibility of a second interview) and hoping they don’t feel our intended marriage is just a marriage of convenience?

I worry a lot that they would not be satisfied with the length of our relationship/how often we’ve gone to visit one another, etc. and would reject or intent to marry.
