What do I do for a tenant reference if I've just sold my house?

I've lived alone / paid my own mortgage for the last 10 years. When I move to Dublin and look for a flat, what do I do for tenant references?

Hi!
I will be in the same situation (although I may be renting out our US house).
I'd suggest getting a record of payments and a payoff statement from your mortgage company and presenting that as evidence of reliability along with some personal references they can contact like past employers, your lawyer, something like that.
I've also been a landlord here in the states and have been on the other end of this. Being able to show that you have a serious amount of cash available to you helps a lot. You can offer them a copy of account statements with accounts numbers redacted as proof of ability to pay.
Good luck!

Do yall think it's a bad idea to provide a copy of your credit report? I imagine since it's your American credit folks can't get access to it from there, but it does show all your accounts/previous accounts and all the little green checkmarks all in a row showing "paid on time"... That looks pretty good!

@tornadoali

Sorry for the delayed response tornadoali. I took a few weeks off to get a move of my own under my belt 🙂 Back in action now!

That's a great idea, and one which I can add a personal note to. I ran my own US credit report when looking for a mortgage in Ireland. It helped clarify my past. Like yours, it was good, however I can't say that it was a decision maker for the bank. It certainly did not hurt. They were happy to see it.
