Hi all! I'll be arriving in Ireland next Tuesday(11/2) as a Stamp 0 "approvee". I can't wait! I fly into Dublin via Aer Lingus and I'll be bringing my dog (blk lab). Due to the airline's pet travel requirements, I'm using an extra large dog kennel. It's huge (48"L x 32"W x 35"H) and is intended for dogs who weigh 90-120lbs. Mine is 55lbs. In any case, I doubt the kennel will fit into the rental car along with my luggage and dog for our trek to the west coast. Is there anyone in the group (or maybe you know of someone or an organization) who could use an XL kennel? I doubt I'll even use the kennel once we get settled since my dog is 10 years old, so I'd be willing to part with it if you're able to pick up in Dublin. If you're interested of have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

I am in the process of moving to Cork from the US in the midst of this pandemic, and I am bringing my doggo. Every domestic airline I've talked to here in the US has halted flying animals in the hold, but the Aer Lingus rep I spoke with said they still are. I am planning on flying with them so I can drop my dog as I leave and get him when I land as I want to avoid shipping him separately. If anyone has flown with a dog, intel would be nice! It's hard enough navigating an international move, pandemic on top of it, and then add the ever changing restrictions that I'm scared will leave us stranded last minute. If anyone has shipped pets during this 2020 craziness, recommendations appreciated!

We have a pet bunny and would like to bring him with us on our move. We've researched the documentation that we will need prior to moving him, but we are wondering if rabbits are a common pet in Ireland. Will we be able to find vets that can work with him? Will we be able to find rabbit food and hay (he uses hay in his litter box)? Here in the US, we have local "House Rabbit Societies" where we can purchase all of his supplies, and they will board him when we travel. Are there places like this in Ireland?

If you're planning on taking a pet to Ireland, you no doubt know that you need to have your vet fill out an exam form within 10 days of your leaving. That form must be taken to a USDA office to be certified. What you may not know (and what I didn't know) is that you really need to schedule the USDA appointment at least a month in advance. I waited until we'd done the vet visit and ended up having to walk-in. There are only two USDA facilities in the entire state of California (El Segundo for the south; Sacramento for the north). I'm lucky because I live only 45 minutes from El Segundo. But I still had to get up at 5:30 to leave at 6 to get there before the line got too long for the 7:30 opening. And then on my first visit, it turned out my vet had filled out the wrong form. So I had to go back and do the whole thing over again the next day. But the pup is official and we're off to Ireland within a week.

Hi

I am returning to Ireland and am taking my Standard Poodle (Mister Murphy) with me. Rather I plan to ship him a few days ahead of me as I will be taking 2 flights and want him to have only 1 (ORD-DUB) so will take him to Chicago by car. I am apparently able to book directly through IAGCargo which handles all pet cargo for Aer Lingus, BA, and others but can't do so more than 2 weeks from proposed trip date. This seems to obviate the need for a Pet-Relocator that your Pets information suggests is the only way-or is IAGCargo THE Pet-Relocator in this instance? I need to buy a crate (all information is on their website including a nice video that makes pet transportation seem far more appealing than ordinary passenger seating! https://youtu.be/MNglihD3uvc)

Does anyone have any suggestions about where to buy a large crate that will probably be used only once? Dimensions (internal) 40 ins long/30 ins high/27 ins wide.

Thanks

Kevin

Over $1,000. Or the idea of renting a car and doing the drive. 1. Am I missing a better option 2. Anyone have a dog fly out of Chicago?

Also wondering if anyone has any advice on the Annex IV Form. My vet said that they are an approved USDA vet so does that mean I don't have to send the form away? It was easier to get my citizenship then it is to fill out this form ;)
