We have been offered a job in Cork and are just trying to find out what it really costs to live there. Any help is appreciated. We are a family of four, with one primary school aged child and one secondary school aged child. The rest of the family is most interested, because of tax differences, what makes a good salary. That's probably one of the toughest things to weigh up right. It's hard to know what a good salary is. It'd be ideal if there was a x amount in one country = y amount in another. Not from an exchange rate, but from the actual cost of living. 

It'd be impossible for me to give you a number that would work for a family of 4. What's good for one, may not be for another. However, the following may help

Hello, my name is Denise Johnston(Hewitt). I will be visiting Ireland the end of May for two weeks with the hope of gathering as much information about my move to there in September. It will be me and my daughter Marissa, 13 yrs old who will be coming, and 2 cats. My great, great grandparents along with my grandparents are all from Co. Cork. It has been a dream my whole life to live in ireland. I will be needing all information to help me on this move. Of course I have been gathering as much information on the web. I have been trying to understand the schooling and still not sure how to compare it to school here in the states. I currently live in Washington state, but grew up in New Jersey, USA.  I have been looking at Kilkenny area to live, but that is not set in stone. I am hoping to get a lot of information from this site or ask questions. Thank you for letting me talk about me.

Hello! I am from London (Essex really!!) But my Dad was from Cork and my Mum from Derry. I really want to one day in the not too distant future move to Ireland. I wonder if this is even possible. I am an Artist and saving up to find a  studio/house or buisness cafe/ pop up gallery or any thing I can either renovate or work or live in and convert a building into. I would appreciate any advise on what would be the possibility of this dream? And even better if its by the sea or the mountains, anywhere in Ireland!  

I also have an Artist friend in Egypt who would like to invest in Ireland in the Arts. Possibilities of buisness to open/studio/gallery.
