Hi Everyone,

I'll be moving to Ireland in about 1 year to begin a PhD program. I'm still in the early stages of gathering information on the practicalities of the move, and this website has already been very helpful! I don't have a particular question at the moment, but I did was to introduce myself.

hi there folks!

i have been looking everywhere for information on hairdressing career opportunities in ireland. i am a US national and my boyfriend lives and is from ireland. id like to move here permanently but marriage isnt on the docket yet. wondering what my options would be in terms of a general permission to work. i have read that hairdressing may be on an ineligible work list but if i had a job offer would that still apply???

any type of help would be appreciated. 3 years long distance is long enough for us :O

xx

Hello, my name is Luis, I'm 31 years old and my goal is to buy land property that will eventually be the site of my dream home. My intention is to build a somewhat self-sufficient home with specific material. So, you could imagen the amount of questions I have and the high level of anxiety with concern. Although, now being able to ask others for wisdom and guidance makes this all the more thrilling! I look forward to this new chapter in life.

Hello,

I am currently living in Donegal, thanks to Dad I have Irish citizenship and a passport and plan on staying here until... the end! I have brought over multiple suitcases of personal belongings but I'm now working on what to do with every in storage in the States. I'm looking at others experiences with shipping and the costs etc. From what I have found so far, this is THE place to get those questions answered.

Many thanks

Michael J Curran

Hi Liam & fellow forum members,

I was born and currently reside in the US and recently applied for Irish citizenship through my Irish-born grandfather. My husband and I hope to retire to and purchase property in Ireland within the next few years so I appreciate having this forum to learn from the wisdom and experience of others. I'm sure I'll have many questions down the road, so thanks in advance!

Hello,

My name is Jordan, and my wife and I are looking at moving to Ireland in the fall of next year.

My wife is an Irish citizen & therefore so is my daughter (once we do the application/birth notification) so the only one who really has to jump thru hoops is me as far as residency.

We’re moving because we can save so much money by doing so (mainly by not having to pay for American health insurance!) and live the life we really want, which is me working & my wife staying home with our kids.

I’m here to try and get answers to the questions I have about working remotely for my current company in the US & what that entails.

I’m glad this forum exists & hope to gain a lot of info & help out as I learn more about the process!
