Hey folks!

Tax time in the US is upon us! What that means for most Americans (and green card holders) regardless of where they live in the world, is that income tax filings will be due in the next few months. I received an email from my tax guys over at TaxesForExpats.com with some important dates that you might want to take note of:

  • January 17
Final Estimated Payment for 2017 quarterly taxes
  • January 29
    2017 E-Filing Opens
  • March 15
Deadline to file extensions for US business returns and foreign trust returns
  • April 17
2017 Tax Returns & FBAR due. Automatic extension to file federal tax returns until June 15 if abroad.
Note - tax payments are due April 17th (regardless of where in the world you live).

Along with the handy information above, TaxesForExpats also included a link to their 2017 Tax Reform blog posts and guides. If you're interested, they have information on Winners and Losers Among Americans Living Abroad, Tax Reform Implications on Real Estate used for rental purposes, and more.
