If you're in IT, engineering or similar, there are plenty of jobs that will employ you before you return. Many of those recruiters are full of it though so be careful. I returned first and looked for jobs after.

This article on the Irish Times website is worthwhile checking out if you're looking to get an Irish highly skilled visa. The regulations have been relaxed a little for certain sectors, and more eligible job roles have been added to the list.

I had an email conversation last week with one of our readers here who is looking for employment in the medTech field. His situation requires him to find a work permit/sponsorship opportunity.
I shared with him some relevant links, namely a way to find medTech companies in Ireland.
Others may find this information useful, so here's the link to the IDA Ireland page where you can find an alphabetical list of companies operating in Ireland
http://www.idaireland.com/business-in-ireland/company-listing/

That page also includes listings of companies in other industries (Internet, Financial Services, Bio Pharmacy, etc) where highly skilled talent are likely to be hired.
