Improv is the short form for „Improvastion“ and that’s what we do! We do live comedy shows where we act out new created and unscripted scenes on suggestions from the audience. So it’s not like a stand up comedy show, where the audience gets insulted and involved, we only involve you to laugh with us and shout out words to help create funny scenes!

Some games we play have some rules, like for example some where we can only say a limited amount of words or have to exit or enter the stage when a special word is said.

Every show and every scene is completely different each time, because it’s all made up on your suggestions!

Improv theatre can be an improvement for life in many ways. It helps to get more confident, you get better at listening, it’s a useful skill for presentations or interviews and can help you overcome social anxiety. And by the way: it’s always incredibly funny and you will have a really enjoyable night! ☺️

If you are living in or around Belfast, check out Paul Mones Improv School:

www.belfastimprov.co.uk

He offers regular courses where you can start off in an introduction to improv theatre and go on until a professional level. It’s always good fun and every class ends in their own improv show in the accidental theatre.

If you prefer watching improv Comedy without getting involved, there are shows happening every Sunday night in the accidental theatre 12-13 Shaftesbury square. Doors open at 7:30, starting time at 8pm. Check out Black Sun Improv on Facebook for more information.☺️
