Hey Nick, Fairly recently, there WAs a change to the rules for pet moves to Ireland. Until that Point, pet relocation companies were a requirement, and all pets had to go through Dublin. I've had confirmation from another mover on here, that that is no longer the case. However, if you arrive into Ireland as your first port of entry in to the EU, then you still need to go through the Lissenhall vet check in Dublin. Hello, dear compatriots. I have my dual Irish citizenship and passport so don’t have to concern myself with visas and the like. I will be relocating in the coming months from the US. I don't expect, but not certain, that I will end up permanently residing in Ireland. I have a budget that is better suited for less economically robust countries. However I know there are official/legal issues I must work out prior to living elsewhere in the EU. For instance, banking and financial representation. Also, medical health affiliations and associated documents and cards (I depend on a medication after having my thyroid removed). Must I have established residence prior to gaining access to these services? Anything I can accomplish before I Set out abroad? Anything any one could contribute to answering would be greatly appreciated. Or Point me in the right direction? I plan on a month (is that sufficient?) in Dublin (or is another city ok for getting things done?) before Setting out to explore other EU options. If I feel at home in Eire perhaps I’ll stay put! @fionaz and anyone else having difficulty with this. I played around with Daft.ie today searching for rentals that will allow pets. If you go to their 'advanced search' option, you can choose that as one of your criteria in the search. As an example a search in Dublin city, with no other options Set, returned 65 results. Of course, other factors will limit your selection e.g. price, location etc, but at least it's a starting Point.

Hi Stephanie, I wish I had more to report at this Point but we had some unforeseen family matters come up and I have made very little progress on the collection of information needed for the Stamp 0 application. Previously, I started to collect my financial documents and also had discussions with my medical insurance company about long term international travel but these are all preliminary at this Point. However, and more specifically to your question I did look over all of the applicable posts in the forum and found one message I saved for future reference and this may be of help to you. The message mentioned Quintas Accountancy Firm in Cork (www.quintas.ie 021 4641400) and based on the message Quintas is well versed in the application process and is willing to help with the visa application for about 500 Euro. I will be getting back to my application very soon and will also post a series of questions for the forum members to consider. I also intend to post about what I find and/or experience during the process but that is probably a couple of months away.
