| ... my first week there except for the utility bills. My question is did @katemreagan husband ever get the temp stamp 4? If so, how long did it take? I know there is the 6 month clause that you must already be living in Ireland and Kate said to go ahead and mail it in even though it may get rejected because of the 6 month rule. But I'm assuming you did this so you could go ahead and get your "receipt letter"from them so he could get his temp stamp 4. Did this work? I'm assuming that you haven't gotten your husbands perm stamp 4 yet? Hoping to get an update fr ... | |||||

| ... in Ireland, they accepted by American address and send correspondence there. 2. The Apostille stamp: never heard of that, whoa! What if you don’t live anywhere close to a State capital? Will a notarized copy work? You can get an Apostille stamp at a number of different locations depending on the state,, but the capital happened to be closest to me. A notarized copy will not be accepted, it must be an Apostille stamp. However, you don't have to go in person - you can mail your documents, check, and cover letter. I just preferred to go in person as it wasn't ... | |||||

| I forgot to mention that an application will need to be filled out for each of your children as well, if they are not EU citizens. And, to answer your earlier question...yes, technically the spouse or non-eu/eea national cannot work until either the temporary stamp 4 or the stamp 4 eu has been issued. So be prepared that they cannot work for i'd say 3-6 months...depending on how quickly the application is received. The immigration officers did say that if you do start working prior to this just dont tell them. It seems like all you really need to work is th ... | |||||

| ... 90 days of entering the country, just know it will be denied at first because you have not been in the country for 6 months. However, since the wait time is anywhere between 14 weeks and 6 months, its possible the timing will align and you will be approved at first go. Once you mail it in, you wait for a letter of receipt. Take that letter to your local immigration officer and they will theb issue you a tempora stamp 4. If you have already exceeded your 90 day entry visa before this letter arrives, let your local officer know that you have submitted your ap ... | |||||

| ... guards have been instructed not to give the stamp 4 or a residence card until after the application has been received. The guards are under the impression that it only takes about 2-3 weeks to get the letter of receipt of application, so it should be fine; however we have spoken to both the immigration office and the citizens information office and it is really about 14 weeks. Because of this "process" the EU Treaty application will be denied because you cannot actually apply for it until you have been residing in the country for 6 months. Once it has been ... | |||||

| ... with them beforehand? This is just one of the many differences been doing business in Ireland vs. the US. Would a job seeker ask for payment from the company before an interview? That's kinda the right analogy. Anyway, stamp 0 is a pretty esoteric process and I doubt an immigration solicitor has much knowledge nor can help you much with the process. The rules are pretty straightforward. It's the accountant that really matters. Save the solicitor for your legal appeal if you get rejected. Now, if an attorney can connect you to a sympathetic TD, that could ... | |||||
