... ;p) Website Info at: | All of this must be done within a certain amount of time prior to your departure, so please plan accordingly. My cat is going in for her first vet visit next Thursday and her second, 9 days before we leave at the beginning of September.
Your pet CAN ride with you in the cabin, as long it's permitted by the airline. I found a few websites that talk about pet-friendly airlines. Please look for the ones that are international carriers. Please confirm this policy with your airline before arriving at the airport. I expect if you pay for ...
Kim, Most rural communities, will have public schools. I'm not too sure what you mean by 'cottage school', sorry!
Have you looked in to the school system in Ireland yet? Here's some Info to get you started
So to clarify...
Annex II to show microchip etc
Annex IV for rabies vaccination compliance
USAD form 7001
Hi Daniela, @danielac
nope, it's different things. The health cert will most likely include the rabies certificate from your local CA vet. Moving from CA a few years ago, we also had to get a USDA document signed by the vet, and then stamped by the USDA. It's called APHIS Form 7001. I haven't checked lately, but my guess is it still applies.
Hope this helps.
... with the relevant people at Dublin airport and they are asking for a health cert, but our vet said this needs to be issued within 10 days before travel and as we're not leaving until mid October I just WAnt to ensure we're not missing something. They don't seem to be vert helpful on the Dublin side so trying to do as much online research as possible! Love to hear everyone's experience so far with moving pets! Thank you!
Thanks for this Tanya. Always great to get recent first hand experience with things like this.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post in, Please let me know if it should be moved to its own thread.
My son is 14 and will be going into grade 9 next year. he has been homeschooled for the last 4 years in a 'cottage school' environment. We live in a very rural area in South AFrica and will WAnt to move somewhere rural in Ireland too.
Does anyone know if there are the equivilant of these types of schools in ireland? Would it then be classed as private education?
Any help is appreciated 🙂 Thank you
Hi Hank,
welcome to the site!
Is your estimate based on a calculation done on the VRT page or Revenue.ie? Here's the link in case you don't have it
Road tax is pretty high in Ireland. Cars with large engines like yours are dinged pretty hard. Most people drive something in the 1.0-2.0 range.
Contacting some classic car clubs in Ireland may yield some Info. I'm sure they must deal with the occasional use scenario all the time.
I'd like to hear more if you have more Info.
Liam
p.s. the tip above (re: the selfie) came from one of my readers recently. If you have something similar to share please do so. It's always helpful to be able to share this kind of Info with everyone.
Oh btw, this banking Info WAs pulled from my most recent consultation call summary write up. You can read the whole thing here. We covered lots of other topics too 🙂
Thx for the reply. I shouldn't have mentioned the welfare to confuse the situation. It's half tongue in cheek - ONLY if I stay in Ireland would I investigate that - so that would be far down the line. The Info that's most pertinent and timely is in regards to establishing my finances i.e. banking and retirement investments with Irish firms as well as establishing my health services. I haven't found specific Info pertaining to that with consideration to my circumstances. Would also like to find out what I may accomplish from US before I head over in a few weeks. Thanks!
