Hello,
My husband and I are thinking about moving to Ireland and could use some advice about what cities to consider. There are various things that we would ideally like in a city and advice about any of them would be super appreciated!
- my husband would be looking for a job teaching languages (english, french, chinese) and I need to find either work or volunteer opportunities in public health, specifically women's health and advocacy. Does anyone know which cities would be our best bet?
-we would love a more progressive city maybe with a university?
-good public transit or walkability would be great.
-It would be really helpful to know which cities have a lower cost of living.
Thanks so much!

Major employment centres, I would think are Dublin and Cork with possibly Limerick and Galway. Dublin being the most expensive.
Hi Hanna,
As Tony mentioned, Dublin and Cork are the two big employment cities, with Dublin really dwarfing anywhere else in terms of number of opportunities. It's a very compact city too; very walkable. Public transport is good too - bike rental, bus, light rail, intercity rail etc. As regards cheaper cost of living, I'd say Limerick and Galway would definitely be better options, but many people commute to Dublin from surrounding counties due to the employment opportunities.
The Womens Health Council might be worth contacting for employment/volunteer opportunities. Here's their info http://www.activelink.ie/content/irish-links/health/womens-health-council
Are you hoping to move in 2016?
