i can tell you. because it is happening right now to us.
my father in law passed this morning.
we are going to ireland tomorrow. (we only just got back from there.)
a credit card and the internet (and a lift to the airport) is all you need in case of emergency. thankfully it can be set up quickly these days. it might be ridiculous that i am typing this now, but i am stuffing pizza into my face in front of my ipad while i wait for the laundry so i can finish packing. it has been quite a day.

thank you. it is really tough being far away from people no matter where you are. we were lucky. we saw him a month ago today. he was in pretty good form. i am glad we got to see him.

@kateincalifornia - modern technology certainly makes being a distance away so much easier. How did we cope pre 90's....
