I've been asked this one a few times, and it's a question that interests me too (mostly for cost saving opportunities)...where are you doing (or plan to do) your online shopping while in Ireland.
In the US, Amazon.com was my go-to point for almost anything. Baby stuff, electronics, toys, shoes, music, car parts...there's not much you can't buy there, and at a great price. I have not as much success with Amazon.co.uk. The selection is still unrivaled, but the price isn't as competitive.
I've used Little Wood Ireland for a couple of electronic purchases (TV and printer). I actually found a really good deal on the TV! They sell a little bit of everything, but I haven't a lot of experience with them.
So chime in...what are some good online retailers that either operate in, or deliver to, Ireland?
Dying to hear what others have to say...
I've not had much luck with Amazon.co.uk either (and was an Amazon addict Stateside). I haaaaaaate getting all the way through checkout only to find they won't deliver a particular item to Ireland. Not cool, Amazon UK, not cool!
My in-laws are asking where to shop for the little ones for birthdays and holidays. We attempted to use Hamley's only to find out their online shop appears to be UK only. And while Smyth's Toys DO ship, their prices are rather high and their selection is just "meh". http://www.smythstoys.com/ie/en-ie/ I'd really like to find a toy shop that sells european-made toys/gifts, but thus far this is the only one I've encountered (and prices are high): http://www.woodenheart.ie/
Site that I have had decent luck with and do enjoy: easons.ie I have bought school textbooks as well as general reading here. Also Opening Minds is great for school supplies/books: https://www.openingminds.ie/
Outside of all those etsy.com and ebay.com still ship to Ireland, though shipping can vary widely, obviously.
I'm all ears for other suggestions... I've been desperately searching for some kitchen goods (hanging wire produce storage, for example) and hate the notion of paying 20 euros to have an 8 euro item delivered from Amazon UK (seriously, WHAT?!).
Have you been to any of the Home Store and More shops in Dublin? There one in Cork, and it's almost a completely clone of Bed Bath & Beyond in the US. It's either a ripoff of it, or a rebranded version for Ireland.
Anyway... They do have online shipping, and they do have kitchen goods. I've never bought there, but just checked the site, and they'll deliver to all 32 counties, though not for free.

Thanks for the link! Was a chaotic week (my first Irish cold! That's a milestone of some sort, right?!) I just resumed my hunt for homewares today hahaha!
I also went out looking for Amazon UK gift cards for sale in stores and can't even find those. It's such a let down that Amazon is *sort of* available here, but then not really.
Have u tried Amazon UK for e-gift cards? Ive bought those on Amazon.com in the past, and then you just email them to the recipient.
Probably will be how I manage it in the end. It was for my oldest child's upcoming bday and kids always wanting something tangible and all lol. I was so confident I'd find an establishment with the giant wall of gift cards that you see so often in the states. Going to look at bit more while out today. Hadn't yet looked at Dunnes or the mall, so maybe.
Does anyone know if the IKEA Dublin does home delivery? In the states it costs an arm and a leg to pay for IKEA's delivery service, so just curious if I should expect the same thing from the one in Ireland (or if they even deliver at all).
Also, any recommendations on furniture stores that are affordable but higher quality than IKEA?
Hey Kate,
According to this, it's €120 outside Dublin.
My sister-in-law took an empty minivan and drove up last year from Cork. Depending on what you're buying though, this might not work. 120 doesn't sound so bad if you're getting a household load worth of stuff.
Hi Liam,
That's not terrible, especially since it looks like a one-time fee rather than a per item charge. I did some more research on the website and it looks like you have to order in-store to have the items delivered, you can't just buy online.
I was hoping to just buy online and have the items delivered to save a trip into a Dublin. But I guess a 2 hr drive to Dublin is no different than the 2 hr drive we currently have to make to our local IKEA in the US.
Looking at a move in April so trying to get our ducks in a row.
