We met with Dave O'Brien of Quintas in Cork last week, and everything went fine. I paid him €250 and it WAs worth it for the peace of mind and the quality of his work. If he does this work while you are in Ireland, then there will be VAT. Since we Aren't living in Ireland yet, he Didn't charge it.

I encourage others to contact him for a similar service.
I prepared a detailed pile of pdf'ed documents and sent them in an email a month ahead of time, with a detailed manifest for each attachment, so I made his work easy for him. When ...
Hi everyone,
I wrote to several accountants yesterday, asking them if they verify the financial report required for immigrants who need to show they are self sufficient. I received an answer, and I'll update this thread with others as they reply. PM me for contact information.
I spoke with an accountant in Dublin. They have prepared these reports many times before, and have never had any of them refused. It is up to the immigrant, of course, to know that they meet the requirements. The firm certifies that the information is accurate.
The report costs €1200+vat, "because it is quite a lot of work." If you Aren't in Ireland at the moment, they will work with you via email, then meet at their office once you're there, to pay and to receive the report.

Jason,
That's a tough age to please! But I guess you don't need me to tell you that. Mine Aren't quite there yet so I have it all ahead of me haha
Depending on where you live, there may or may not be plenty for them. I think as you get a better understanding of that, you'll be able to do a bit more research on it. Obviously (for example) Dublin vs Sligo will be like night and day in terms of things to do.
But like you say, if you don't mind a bit of a drive, there's always something new within reach.
We are phoning the insurance again tomorrow to give it one last go. Fingers crossed... my hopes Aren't high at this point.
... I have contacted are part of the NS system. Also, they are in smaller towns which probably has a lot to do with enrollment being a bit easier, opposed to schools in Dublin where it's highly populated.
I imagine there Aren't many Jewish schools in Dublin, so it may be more Difficult to get into. I would try calling the school Directly if you can.
Also, you dont have to be Catholic to attend the national schools. However, from what I have gathered if it comes down to only one spot available and there is a Catholic family and a non-Catholic family on the lis ...
... as Liam said, there are plenty of commuter towns around the city, some with access to public transportation so you may not even have to drive. The further out you go the cheaper it will get! If you go outside of Dublin you are more likely to get what you need for a better price.
I worry about the weather in regards to my husband who WAs born and raised in California. He has spent some pretty horrible vacations during the winter in Ireland so he has an idea of what he is in for. Have you and the kids visited Ireland for long periods? You can start thinking ...
... You will feel down and you will at some point feel like it is too Difficult. You will forget the reasons you came to Ireland, when people start telling you negatively that you were mad for moving back. At the same time, we forgot all of the issues we had in the US with childcare, healthcare and the shabby unhealthy standard of living we had. My job in Ireland fell apart and the same day I WAs offered a job in the US. We had said once we were back in the US that we would surely end up back in Ireland and that next time we would do it properly. And we Did! Li ...
