Im moving to Ireland this Oct. and I'm going to ship my 74 MG over also.
My question is I bought the car in 2005 from a private owner, and I don't have a bill of sale.
Any help would be be grand.

Correct how do I prove ownership, with the title? I got the car in 2005 and i don't have a receipt any more.
Hi Sean I don't know where you are coming FROM but if it's the US, you would have to try make a case to the DMV in your state that the car is yours and provide evidence to that effect.
It's hard when the title is gone because someone else may actually own the car. Ideally the person you bought it from would attest to the fact they sold it to you and that they lost it or something similar.
I'm not bringing my car but the title is lost also and need to go through the motions with the DMV. It will cost about USD70 I think to get a new title. I'd call the DMV or to see them and explain your situation... see what they will do.
