Many of us have talked in the past about the need to re-take driver education and driving lessons upon arrival in Ireland. It sounds crazy, but even if you've been driving for decades overseas, you may need to go through the full driving test process (which includes 12 mandatory lessons) upon arrival in Ireland. See why here.
I was thinking about this again recently, after receiving a question from a reader about driving lessons. Afterwards, I figured it'd be helpful if some of us could share what we've found (online, locally, in newspapers) etc regarding driving lesson prices and deals, or discounts. Specifically, Essential Driver Training (EDT), the mandatory training course for teaching fundamental driving skills to learner (or potentially skilled in this case) car drivers. Let's do that here....
Oh gosh, it could be anywhere between 200 and 370 for 12 lessons. Anything more than that is highway robbery. Ask on local facebook pages for suggestions from your locality!
Good tip, thanks!
