what specifically are you looking for? Experiences, requirements, etc...

Since I have posted this I stumbled upon Engage Education, a company designed to consult for teachers in the UK. Ever heard of them? It sounds like they would be a great resource for my questions.

But to answer your question I am looking for a secondary position in English Language Arts. I am a third year middle school (12-14 years old) teacher in the states. I want a place where I can easily get to the city, or is in the city, and has a good sized population in their 20s.

I don't know much about the education in Ireland. Is it strong? Are there respect for teachers and education?

I have not heard of Engage, but I doubt that a UK service can give you all your answers for Ireland. There is a route to teaching in Ireland with an overseas qualification. Have you explored that? It's easier for middle/high than for elementary teachers, because the requirement of speaking Irish does not apply, unless of course you want to teach Irish 🙂

Education in Ireland typically ranks very high on various reports. I'm not sure what you mean by 'respect', but it is a pretty decent occupation, but comes with the downside that teaching comes almost everywhere - low potential for growth, and slowly increasing salary.

Yes, I am working on being vetted and applying to be qualified if that is what you mean by a route to teaching. I have heard it would be easier for me to come in for secondary. You may be right, I would probably be alright if I just follow the teaching council's step by step process. 

That is good to know they have a high ranking. I have not done much research because that really doesn't bother me. I'm not moving to Ireland for the teaching job if you know what I mean!
