I'm a dual US/Irish Citizen, my wife, stepson, and our 2 grandchildren are all US citizens.

My stepson is 22 and a recent widower, he and his children live with us as we are helping him raise the kids.

We are looking at moving the entire clan over to Cork in the next couple of years, and am trying to ensure I have all of my bases covered well in advance.  From what I am reading on the forum, it almost looks like my stepson and his children will essentially be on their own as far as applying for immigration status, even though they are essentially our dependents.  Has anyone else encountered this sort of situation? Any tips?

That's most likely true, Hank. Unless your stepson is legally dependent on you, then he will have to handle his own immigration status. Which immigration status are you all hoping to enter on?
