Sorry if this is the wrong place to post in, Please let me know if it should be moved to its own thread.
My son is 14 and will be going into grade 9 next year. he has been homeschooled for the last 4 years in a 'cottage school' environment. We live in a very rural Area in South AFrica and will WAnt to move somewhere rural in Ireland too.
Does anyone know if there are the equivilant of these types of schools in ireland? Would it then be classed as private education?
Any help is appreciated 🙂 Thank you
Hello,
We are moving to Ireland from the U.S. this summer (late July). It is a move home for me (after 15 years!) and first move for my husband and 3 kids (5), (4) and (2). We will be in the Area around Killaloe, Co. Clare. I found a thread on here recently about moving companies and we are going with one mentioned here (Schumacher) so thanks for that rec:) We will also be moving our dog so will download your booklet about that. No doubt I will be on here as crunch time approaches with more questions!:)

Hi Paul,
looks like your reply got cut off. I think you may have typed it into the title instead of the main text Area.
... about the PODS part of my question, the answer is no, as their WArehouse bays are not actually functionally available given that the PODS are stacked up inside the WArehouse blocking all bays. They do deliver them to work at leisure at your home, but I live in a condo which does not allow moving on the weekends or for commercial vehicles/POD to remain on property overnight. So, it looks like the best I'm going to be able to do is the parking lot/loading Area outside the PODS facility. Thanks for the reality check on the 2-hours; I kind of figured it migh ...
... husband and I go home to Ireland once or twice a year. My whole family is still in Ireland and we are hoping to relocate back home in about 2 years time. We have the option of going to the North or the Republic but immigration seems a lot easier in the south. We're hoping to maybe move to the Dundalk or Drogheda Area's, so we are just a train or bus in either Direction to Belfast or Dublin. Would love to live in Dublin as it's one of our favourite cities but will be out of our pricepoint.
My one main question is, "my husband travels a lot for work and ...

I'm Peter, and I have just been accepted as a MSc student at NUI, Galway! I'm very excited to complete my education and liver overseas for the first time! However, a bit of reality is setting in as I look into the realities and logistics of the move.
By WAy of background, I'm a community college instructor and lab technician, in the specialized field of microscopy and biological imaging. I love what I do, but am a bit underemployed due to my lack of an advanced degree. It has been my plan for the last few years to put my house on the market, pay off my debt ...
Hey everybody! I just upgraded the forum software running on here. I think it looks far better, and has far better capabilities, including the ability to add a private Area, which I will be doing soon.
I've had to do some playing around with it and have had to redirect some links, so please let me know here if you find anything not working.
Hi @niamhienic, welcome to the site! @ronnie29 might be able to answer your question on what documents are needed as he went through this process recently. It Differs slightly from those applying through EU Treaty Rights. I will say the immigration website outlines the process as well.
Regarding his PPS number. He will need to go to the local intreo office, or whichever office issues the PPS numbers in your Area, and make an appointment. Unfortunately, he cannot just get a PPS number for being your spouse (at least that is what we were told - it may be Different for irish spouses vs eu spouses.) If he says he is intending on applying for a medical card, that will be sufficient, whether he does or not.
