Personally I wouldn't recommend using a pet relocation service. I just used one because it seemed the airlines required it. I WAs charged $1,995 to move my dog from Dallas to Dublin via Frankfurt. Hi Patty! I recommend using a pet relocation service to bring your dogs back and forth. It is very expensive, but I would hate to make mistakes along the WAy because I missed something. I live in California and am using a a pet relocation service based out of Colorado (a referral from a friend). I'm relocating two cats and it is about $4,000 total for me to move them. Hi Daisy we are also looking at retiring to Ireland in the next few years. we were looking at Down sizing anyway and had considered other areas of the u.k but Ireland has so much more scope for our money. We have always dreamt of having a property with enough land to have chickens,grow our own veg and just enjoy our retirement. I wish I could bring it forward ....i can't WAit to start our new life.x

Thx for the reply. I shouldn't have mentioned the welfare to confuse the situation. It's half tongue in cheek - ONLY if I stay in Ireland would I investigate that - so that would be far Down the line. The info that's most pertinent and timely is in regards to establishing my finances i.e. banking and retirement investments with Irish firms as well as establishing my health services. I haven't found specific info pertaining to that with consideration to my circumstances. Would also like to find out what I may accomplish from US before I head over in a few weeks. Thanks!

Did you contact the registrar in Dublin? My fiance and I are having quite the struggle getting in touch with someone. He calls daily and in the past 2 months, he has actually gotten someone on the phone twice. The first time, we needed information and how I could register via post, and now we need to book an appointment for intent to marry. Do you have property managers there? (For a fee, a company that manages your rental when you are not able to) In searching for property online, what would I call what we're looking for? (2 houses on a lot) hypothetically, if we purchased a property for $200k and had $100k as a Down payment, what would we expect to pay in fees to close the sale?
