Hi,
I am planning to move from the US to Dublin in a little over a year. I understand that my credit history here in the states will not follow me, and that I will have to begin building credit history again as soon as I land there. My question is whether or not anyone knows of ways that I can start to build credit history now.
For example, I will be in Dublin in the next few weeks and I considered opening a non-resident bank account with a local bank. Figured maybe just having an active account with them for a year might begin to build rapport. Or it could possibly allow me to open a credit card through that bank?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Respectfully,
