Liam -
I thought I'd provide a copy of an email I received today about since it reflects the possible cost for assistance with preparing/confirming financial information for the Stamp 0 application. I know Quintas has been mentioned in previous posts, but thought I'd provide their reply since it's current, especially the fees and contact information.
I do have another request for service information and fees out to James O'Donovan of O’Donovan Lavin Accountants and will post any information that he provides.
I hope the following is helpful.
Thank you!
My name is Adam McCarthy and I work in the Quintas tax department with Dave O’Brien. In Order to prepare a financial verification pack we require the following documentation:
Evidence of all finances available (i.e. last six months of bank statements, savings account statements, payslips, pension valuation, investment portfolios etc.) – This is to prove that you earn more than €50,000 per annum. Scanned copies of these will suffice.
Evidence that you have access to a large sum of money to cover any major unforeseen expenses (typically the cost of a dwelling in the state) – This can be in the form of a property valuation or an investment that can be easily liquidated (if it is an investment then we will need confirmation that you have immediate access to the funds)
Spreadsheet showing projected income in Ireland and expenditure on a monthly basis
2 photo ID and 2 documents showing proof of address (e.g. utility bill) notarized by a local official – the reason I need this is that we probably won’t meet in person
If you are unsure about whether a particular source of income or funds is allowable just send us the documents and we can verify if it will qualify.
The standard fee for this is €500 and can be broken down as follows:
Request of information - €50
Review of documentation - €150
Review of Stamp 0 conditions to ensure qualification - €100
Letter of verification of income & finances available - €200
If however the work required is more extensive, then our fee will reflect this.
As you intend on moving to Ireland next year the financial verification would need to take place around the time you intend to apply for the Stamp 0 cert so there is no need rush with this process at present.
Should you have any questions in relation to any of the above please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
Adam

I originally applied in 2019 and received approval in late October 2019. We were getting our affairs in Order (eg sell the house) then COVID hit and we put it off. In August I recontacted Unit 2 at INIS and they said I needed to reapply Same requirements, but I could just send them by email to Unit 2. Much easier. Not sure that is an option for the first time. Hope this helps
Hey Niall @niall098
That's the first time in 4+ years of running this forum that I've heard a story like yours. If your marriage is legitimate, and you have everything in Order that they require you to provide, then a 12 month WAiting period sounds nuts! I have never come across a case where a previous marriage WAs an impediment, but maybe that's a technicality somewhere in the fine print.
Can you update us as you learn more? Wishing you the very best.
Liam
Nick - You have to be able to show you followed the timeline as outlined on the Dept of Agriculture website. Once that is in Order, anything additional doesn't really matter. Would the 2 extra pet visits consist of doing things that must be completed for the move?
Thanks for the WArm welcome Liam !!
Yes I believe I will be apologising for Brexit and being English to every new person I meet in Ireland for a long time...
Regarding banking, it's pretty limited being non-resident so I think either a standing Order or cash is probably my best bet. I don't believe KBC have any branches (they call them 'hubs') where I can withdraw cash from a teller, so am restricted to ATMs and no WAy of getting a cashiers cheque.
Does anyone know if landlords typically ask for the deposit and a months rent up front, or is it lets say 20 ...
... is inserted and the vet has verified they can read the animal's microchip. Twenty one days after this you can bring your animal to Ireland. I'd space the timing longer to be on the safe side -2 to 3 months.
Remember you need an authorised rep to meet you at Dublin Airport and agree the paperwork is in Order. Otherwise the animal will be taken to the quarantine facility in Meath somewhere.
The thing you will need to be sure if is whether your animal has a vaccine or a booster and that it is well in date. It's worth checking with your vet what the ra ...
Hello!
This is an important thread. I cringe at the challenges of bringing beloved pets into Dublin. What I am reading online is NOT encouraging.
I have two 15-year-old cats, 100% indoors, good health, friendly, homebody cats. Melvin & Priscilla.
I am thinking of flying them in cabin from CA > NY, then spend a couple of days in a pet-friendly hotel. I believe that United, Delta, and some other Airlines will accommodate that as long as the cats fit under the seat, etc., and don't cause any fuss.
Next challenge is to get them across the Atlantic to Dublin. I have figured out a couple of options, and I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.
1) Call the Airlines and see what their policies are. Aer Lingus, Delta seem to be options, but it seems that TSA recently (July 2021) eliminated emotional support status and is only assuring that seeing eye dogs and other pets trained for disabled owners will be allowed in the cabin.
2) Go to a travel agent and make all arrangements through the agent.
3) Maybe try NY > Amsterdam or other city that is close to Dublin for in-cabin, then short (hour) flight for cats in cargo. Give kitties calmatives so that they don't die of fright in the cargo.
4) Take the Queen Mary II . . . cats won't stay in rooms but they won't have the risks associated with Air pressure, pitch dark/scary, etc. associated with cargo for five hours. Passengers may visit with their pets during certain hours of the day so that pets know that their humans haven't abandoned them to cargo. Queen Mary II will arrive in England, then maybe take cats on ferry to Dublin or else very short trip in cargo. Queen Mary II is not budget-friendly travel.
Their cat sitter will fly with us. She will take one cat; I will take the other.
I will have their vet complete paperwork about immunizations, etc., 10 days prior to arrival and take paperwork to USDA for certification. As soon as we arrive, I will take cats to IE vet for EU paperwork. Cats will have their EU Pet Passports ASAP.
Am I missing anything????? THANK YOU for suggestions.
Pat
Thanks for replying Liam. The notice about the suspension is kind of hard to find. I’ll attach it here. As far as I can see, this affects ministers of religion, and volunteer workers. We used to be able to get a three year stamp. They did this suspension literally a week before we arrived.
Really, I’m asking about the re-entry with a landing stamp for 90 days, just so we would be able to come back and get our affairs in Order that we will leave behind, if we are not able to get long term residence.
George - I am going to assume you are Irish?
If so, then once you attend in person at a GNIB office, your wife should have her approval soon after if everything is in Order. I suggest reading what others have described here (from Cfin, Mairead, Kate, Kelsey). It should add some clarity to the process.
I have flown from NYC and LA to Ireland with dogs. Dogs that would have otherwise fit under the seat. Unfortunately they have to go as checked baggage or cargo.
I have never quite figured out if this is some sort of international Air transport law, or just Airline policy. But, I WAs never able to locate a carrier that would take them in the main cabin.
See Aer Lingus' policy on it here
If the process is still the same, it could be due to how they are picked up by a 3rd party in Dublin, and taken immediately to the vet facility to get checked out. Yo ...
