Hi Folks!I just WAnted to write and thank you so much for all your information. We Have been in Ireland for just over two months now, (March 2019) and we are on Stamp O, made so much easier by all the information Here. First, the list of all the extra things needed, not listed on the INIS website, WAs a godsend. We Had background checks from a website, and we included a letter from our local chief of police. we included our marriage certificate and our birth and baptismal certificates. We Hired an Irish accountant, referred to my by a friend, who looked at o ...

... the only ones in our area who Have an immigration desk. We went, and gave them our information. They asked that we Have proof of our address, which WAs the only thing besides our passport, proof of insurance with private Hospital coverage, and the letter, that they needed. They took all our info and said we Had about another month before the the deadline for being fully registered with proof of address. So, we also asked about the whole continuous living thing. We told them we Have classes on the weekend every other month or so in different countries, and w ...

Hi, I am recently retired but will be relocating to work in Shannon as a consultant Hopefully around June this year. My wife will accompany me for the proposed 6 month contract. We think we would like to live in Ennis. We Have lived in the country for 20+ years and would like to live in the City now close to transportation, amenities and social life. Limerick seems a bit too big for us. I will be working at the Shannon airport so the commute does not seem too bad. Can anyone recommend a realtor in Ennis that could Help us find Housing for 6 months. We Have tried Daft.ie several times but only get a standard response.

... a bunch of content that is mostly on the website. I then - encouraged by Her reply and Having a name - sent Her an email with several Qs about the Stamp 0. Like Laura and others I've found the requirements listed on the website to be quite vague and WAs seeking to get additional clarity so my wife and I can submit the best possible application. I Have not gotten a response back for over 6 weeks. Questions about the Stamp 0 Application Process My wife and I are both 50% Irish (she is actually also applying for citizenship via ancestry but since Her bir ...

Hi all, I'm expecting to be in Ireland for about 3 months and I do WAnt the flexibility of being able to drive around, even if I am located in a City or town. Does anyone know of a dealership or company that does a short-term car lease? I looked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car and they WAnted over €700 per month. I WAs Hoping to find something cheaper. Unfortunately, the places I'm looking at living don't Have a Go-Car service nearby. Any ideas?

I'm planning on selling my old car in the US before moving over (it Has 250K on it, so it's time, even if I WAsn't relocating), and I'm thinking about what I WAs going to do in terms of transportation in Ireland. My first thought WAs simply to buy a lightly used Hybrid, and when I WAs looking at Cars.ie, this seemed affordable. But in looking into things further, the reality of the 23% value added tax, plus other taxes and fees set in, and it looks like owning a car there is *very* expensive unless I get a vehicle with a lot of mileage on it. Plus, I'm ther ...

RE: Question on Cats and Approved Airlines
Pets

Hey Nick, Fairly recently, there WAs a change to the rules for pet moves to Ireland. Until that point, pet relocation companies were a requirement, and all pets Had to go through Dublin. I've Had confirmation from another mover on Here, that that is no longer the case. However, if you arrive into Ireland as your first port of entry in to the EU, then you still need to go through the Lissenhall vet check in Dublin. Aer Lingus, Have long been an approved carrier, but generally it's down to the individual airlines whether they will transport pets or not. Vari ...

Hi Georgios, welcome to the IMC Yeah, you'll find Galway to be totally different than LA. That's probably an understatement really Haha Dublin is fairly metropolitan, but still nowhere near like LA is. It is a big City though, and comes with all of the pros and cons that go along with that tag. Update us with details as you progress through the move. Liam

I'm going over to Ireland for the first time in December - I'm staying in Wicklow/Wexford area. I'm sure there isn't anything I won't like and my next port of call would be to move there! I just need a guide on what and How really!! I work in London (could potentially ask if job available in Dublin office) if not I would need to get a new job, do you interview by Skype do you Have to fly over etc...? - I'm an Executive assistant so my thought process is to try Dublin City Centre for that? I live in Essex - and own a flat (mortgaged) - what are people's thoughts on property - ideally I would like a House with some land and stables as I Have Horses and dogs (well I Have 1 of each at the moment but when I move I plan to buy more!!) but to start with my Horse could stay in Essex with my friend - I can take my dog, but do you rent first in Ireland and rent flat out at Home (this does make me nervous though in case people wreck it!) - then buy once you are more settled in? (6 months I am thinking?) Any comments or tip or Hints! And in particular any areas that people think would be good and rural for me to check out but not too far from Dublin would be great! Thanks all! 🙂

Hello, dear compatriots. I Have my dual Irish citizenship and passport so don’t Have to concern myself with visas and the like. I will be relocating in the coming months from the US. I don't expect, but not certain, that I will end up permanently residing in Ireland. I Have a budget that is better suited for less economically robust countries. However I know there are official/legal issues I must work out prior to living elsewhere in the EU. For instance, banking and financial representation. Also, medical Health affiliations and associated documents and cards (I depend on a medication after Having my thyroid removed). Must I Have established residence prior to gaining access to these services? Anything I can accomplish before I set out abroad? Anything any one could contribute to answering would be greatly appreciated. Or point me in the right direction? I plan on a month (is that sufficient?) in Dublin (or is another City ok for getting things done?) before setting out to explore other EU options. If I feel at Home in Eire perhaps I’ll stay put! I’m an artist and perhaps ‘The Dole’ would be an enticement. Thanks
