... or immigration advice nor should it be solely relied upon for your own move, it's just a nice starting point for considerations to make if you are someone in a similar situation.
About me: - I had a job lined up before moving to Dublin. My work permit WAs applied for and approved while I WAs in the US. It WAs sponsored by my new employer.- I live a Minimalist lifestyle. I did not need contents relocation (someone shows up, packs your stuff, puts it in a shipping container, and delivers to you in Ireland). I WAs moving via checked/excess luggage and mailing ...

3) Set up PPS, bank account, mobile phone (all need an address)
Is this right? Ideally I WAnt to be looking at places to live at the same time as interviewing for work - will it be possible to sign a lease without a permanent job finalised? I have enough savings to cover the rent and can do temp work if necessary in the interim (I’m looking at senior roles - Sales/business development director level - but it may take a few weeks for the right opportunity to come up). I’m British so don’t need a work permit.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Carole,
The order in which you describe things make most sense. It's a catch 22 with the address a lot of times, so if you have a rental agreement in place, that should work for the needs in #3. A job offer letter may work too.
It's totally at the discretion of the landlord/agency as to whether they will lease to you without a job in place. 3rd parties almost definitely won't allow this. A private landlord might, but it's unlikely. There are short term housing options too. You could go down that route in the short term.
... 2 years. It is an incredible inconvenience, especially after you’ve been driving for decades. I too moved here Solo...if you WAnt to discuss this further we can chat via email.
I found insurance WAs far less expensive with a learner permit than with a US license. Also, obtain proof of no claims from you current insurance provider, this will reduce your premiums further. Shop around for insurance, prices varied greatly.
Also, you can apply for reduced driver training lessons - from 12 to 6, and you can take you driving test within 6 months, assuming tes ...

I personally am using a pet relocation service because as I moved to Dublin Solo I have enough on my plate that I needed someone who does this professionally to take care of all the details and make sure I didn't make a mistake. I didn't WAnt me pets sent back on a plane because of a mistake of mine. Others have said it's easy to do on your own but you have to have very fine attention to detail and triple check your information (internet can be tricky you know). I am using a company called Pet ...

From what I've read, we just need to go to GNIB with passports, certs and proof of address?
Will she be granted stay with work permit from this meeting or do we have to go through an application and potentially see her lose her job post contract expiration or is it that as Simple as above?
Feeling slightly anxious about it. Advice appreciated. thanks.

Thank you for your thoughtful and informative post!
Hi there,
We are moving back to Ireland in a few weeks after 11 years in the USA. I went to Set up international mail forwarding and realized its not as Simple as on the opposite end (Ireland to USA). It seems USPS don't really do this!! Can anyone recommend a good mail forwarding service that doesn't cost an arm and leg?
Thanks!

If I WAs the UK government, I would put in a Simple reciprocal trade policy with the EU. UK tariffs on EU goods would match those Set by the EU on UK goods. Then if the EU WAnts to follow the German Finance members comments about punishing the UK, they would get to hear from their own businessmen selling products to the UK.
Have you been to any of the Home Store and More shops in Dublin? There one in Cork, and it's almost a completely clone of Bed Bath & Beyond in the US. It's either a ripoff of it, or a rebranded version for Ireland.
Anyway... They do have online shipping, and they do have Kitchen goods. I've never bought there, but just checked the site, and they'll deliver to all 32 counties, though not for free.
