Hi!
We have a pet bunny and would like to bring him with us on our move. We've researched the documentation that we will need prior to moving him, but we are wondering if rabbits are a common pet in Ireland. Will we be able to find vets that can work with him? Will we be able to find rabbit food and hay (he uses hay in his litter box)? Here in the US, we have local "House Rabbit Societies" where we can purchase all of his supplies, and they will board him when we travel. Are there places like this in Ireland?
trying to get the right balance of hot and cold WAter, is it? And then someone elsewhere in the House turns on another one, and ruins the balance 🙂
@pam
I originally applied in 2019 and received approval in late October 2019. We were getting our affairs in order (eg sell the House) then COVID hit and we put it off. In August I recontacted Unit 2 at INIS and they said I needed to reapply Same requirements, but I could just send them by email to Unit 2. Much easier. Not sure that is an option for the first time. Hope this helps
... started getting shipping quotes (40' FCL), weeding out the House, digitizing files, etc. So glad I found this site! I'm on a FB group, and that's been helpful, but this seems to have much more information. TIA for any and all help along the WAy!

... what worries me, what confuses me and how to go about job hunting 🙂
We are planning a move to Dublin next summer (probably August) and our biggest question right now is how easy it will be for my husband to get a job permit and a job. We are both currently employed but expect that it will be easier for him to get a job in Dublin while it might take longer for me. He is a solutions architect for a telecom company and has over ten years experience. I recently switched careers from nonprofit fundraising to public health. I graduated with a masters of public ...
... like and WAnt to start bidding on it to ensure we get the best House we can for our family (it seems "perfect" - there is no such thing haha).
However we're finding it a challenge to apply for a mortgage while overseas; even once we can provide the work references and letters etc... Bank of Ireland have told us they won't even let us apply until we are on Irish soil. I fear this is going to become a "thing".
Has anyone here secured a mortgage before they land? I'd love to hear about challenges and how you overcame them.
Thanks in advance
So, my Dad hand-carved a fireplace mantel that sat above the House that I grew up in for decades. After he passed, my Mom sold the House but I asked her to exclude the mantel from the sale and asked to have it. Thus, I now have the mantel in my POD WAiting for shipping to my place in Ireland (along with my other Household goods), which I think would make him quite happy. However, after reading about pallets and the special heat-treated, stamped wood that needs to be used in making them for international shipping, I now have this nightmare playing in my he ...
@johnk
Congrats, John! Always happy to hear from another successful Stamp 0 applicant. Let us know how things pan out with the House hunt. What part of the country are you thinking of settling down in?
Hello, my name is Laura, I have just moved to Ireland. My husband is Irish and we have my registration appointment next week. We are having great difficulty, getting evidence of joint address, I cant even open a bank account without my Irish Resident permit. We will be living together in his House which he owns, but cant get in any utility bills without being registered first, Can someone give us any pointers as to how to get evidence of joint address. Thank you!!!!
Well ty Liam.
Do you still live in Cork? You think it would be hard to find a House for 6 people? 3 adults 3 children.
