@laneiger Thanks, Lori.
I WAs just concerned with any possible delays (due to Covid and previous lockdowns/restrictions) in getting the initial Stamp 0 approval. Sounds like you're response time from the INIS WAs less than 90 days but that WAs in 2019, so not sure what the timing is Now post-Covid??? I suspect that timelines and timing with Gov't processes may be an unknown for Now. As a result, my initial thought WAs to apply this summer with an anticipated move to Ireland in late Oct. I'll be selling my house here in U.S., so that is going to take some t ...

Hello everyone!
My name is Faith. I currently live in the U.S. in Dallas, Texas and I WAnt to move to Ireland with my husband and two young daughters (7 years old and 5 months old). It’s something we have been talking about for about 8 years and we are finally ready to actually do it. I’ve been to Ireland 3 times and my husband has been there twice. We both love it. Now we just have to figure out how to make our dream a reality.
Hello,
We've been trying to contact the relevant department using the email on their website as well as their phone line (which they have Now declared on their website is disconnected) but to no avail. Hoping anyone that's gone through the process might be able to shed some light. We're applying based on marriage to an Irish citizen (applicant is from outside the EU).
The only clarification we need is with regards to the proof of residence (for both partners) for the previous 3 months requirement. Could something paid annually (like home insurance) be used to satisfy one of the proofs or does it have to be a bill/payment that is issued monthly? Or bi-monthly?
This is the pargraph I'm referring to:"Copies of three different proofs of residence in the island of Ireland for both applicantand spouse/civil partner for 3 months prior to the date of application showing date andname and current address. Proofs include mortgage/rent agreement, household bills(gas, electricity, phone or cable/satellite TV), bank statements, revenue, mortgageagreement, social welfare, letter from employment, etc"
Hello Everyone!
I am new to the group and so happy to have found such a wonderful resource. I think there is so much power is sharing knowledge so I hope I can find some answers (or at very least) insight into my questions.
Here is a little background:
My husband and I have been WAnting to make the move to Ireland for many years Now and have exhausted so many different options. We have 2 children and are currently in Canada. My husband and I both work from home and can basically live anywhere. We are thinking Now a Stamp 0 may be the easiest WAy and allow ...
... I are separated at the moment) with a soon to be four year old daughter. My story is a bit complicated but long story short, my estranged wife cannot come here to the states due to immigration laws and I cannot go back to any of the Schengen countries (working on getting that resolved) My estranged wife is German and lives in Germany. Has for the past 5/6 years, with me living in the states.
During this time, we tried to resolve issues of bringing her back over here and me going back over there. Still a battle as you can see. During that time, we took vaca ...
@megmegu Hi Meg and family. Great to have you here 🙂
There's a Lucan in Dublin also. Maybe an option 🙂
Just an FYI for Now, as I'm sure we'll converse more as time passes, but there are plenty of other great universities in Ireland outside Dublin. Cork, Limerick, Galway all have good options.
It's cool you've given yourself so much time to plan. Do you hope to get over to visit a couple of times between Now and then to scout out options? I'm sure schools too will have a bearing on where you end up. The irish school system is great, so your daughter will be well set.
Looking forward to hearing more from you and Shannon as things take shape.
... living in Dublin. We have been together for four years, visiting each other back and forth every few months. I think our longest stay together WAs about three months, when he lived with me in Chicago over a summer. We got engaged about a year ago, but our moving plans have been all over the place because of COVID-19. Now, I'm planning to move to Ireland, and we are ready to begin that process ASAP. We've done a lot of research over the past year, but it's so hard to figure things out for sure from the info online, and it would be so great to hear personal e ...
Hi Folks!I just WAnted to write and thank you so much for all your information. We have been in Ireland for just over two months Now, (March 2019) and we are on Stamp O, made so much easier by all the information here. First, the list of all the extra things needed, not listed on the INIS website, WAs a godsend. We had background checks from a website, and we included a letter from our local chief of police. we included our marriage certificate and our birth and baptismal certificates. We hired an Irish accountant, referred to my by a friend, who looked at o ...
So, my Dad hand-carved a fireplace mantel that sat above the house that I grew up in for decades. After he passed, my Mom sold the house but I asked her to exclude the mantel from the sale and asked to have it. Thus, I Now have the mantel in my POD WAiting for shipping to my place in Ireland (along with my other household goods), which I think would make him quite happy. However, after reading about pallets and the special heat-treated, stamped wood that needs to be used in making them for international shipping, I Now have this nightmare playing in my he ...
