Hello,
Your approval letter states if you can renew or not.
Yes, it is a yearly verification by an Irish CA.
For the renewal finances, I submitted Irish CA verified proof of my income, and cash in the amount of an Irish home
but NOT my monthly expenses (as I did in the initial submission).
You will need to send in a renewal request to the same office in Dublin - most folks have been doing this at least a month or more in advance of the expiration (this is in your approval letter).
(also you need to show private health insurance, Full copy of your passport, copy of your registration card)
Then -- you will need to do the registration again. Where this depends on which county you live in. Dublin has an online system now. Other counties are probably still in person at the local garda (one has to check)
Hope this helps.
... now where I make a steady income (above Irish minimum WAge) and am capable of Supporting myself. The vast majority of my royalty payments come from Amazon.
I have scoured the INIS website trying to figure out what and reached out (via email) to the office but have yet to hear back from anyone. I am sure the Covid19 situation is slowing things down but am a bit stuck when it comes to figuring out which residency permit I would apply for.
An Irish friend suggested I reach out the the embassy but I thought I'd post the question here before I take that route ...
... 2 years. It is an incredible inconvenience, especially after you’ve been driving for decades. I too moved here solo...if you WAnt to discuss this further we can chat via email.
I found insurance WAs far less expensive with a learner permit than with a US license. Also, obtain proof of no claims from you current insurance provider, this will reduce your premiums further. Shop around for insurance, prices varied greatly.
Also, you can apply for reduced driver training lessons - from 12 to 6, and you can take you driving test within 6 months, assuming tes ...
Hi
I have just started the process of finding an international shipper/mover to move our household stuff from Boulder (near Denver) Colorado to either Cork or Kilkenny in early spring 2021. My estimate is that it will fit into a 20′ container and from what I can tell FCL is best to minimize the handling risk of LCL.
My preference would be to purchase a container so that we can load it ourselves and have the loaded container dropped at our location in Ireland which is out in the country. I can buy a container and have it delivered to my home in Boulder no problem but can’t find any “movers” who will deal with a loaded container. All of the offers so far have been based on using their container and loading it myself. The loading time is limited to 2h before a $85/h surcharge kicks in AND requires loading into the container sitting on the trailer – not the best for loading a piano! Alternatively, and most expensive, is to have the moving company load the container.
The issue seems to be the loading of the Full container onto the trailer that will transport it to the shipping port or at least to a container yard for transfer to a haulage trailer to take it cross country to the docks. Same issue at the other end where the container will need to be transferred from the trailer to the ground.
The reason for using my own container is lack of storage capacity at the drop off in Ireland which is solved by keeping the contents in the container until we are able to get that sorted. This prevents us from using a typical moving company who expect to unload the contents at the destination. One solution, if we went with the moving company container option, would be to get the container unloaded into a storage unit. That adds another layer of complication but should be possible to organise if the moving company were willing.
I would welcome any suggestions on how to ship my own container and any companies that can handle this type of move.
Thanks,John
... to choose from.
I like this 'u crates' idea. Mostly because you pack it all in yourself, and everything in the crate is yours. My things were boxed up on pallets, and then thrown on a container with who knows what else.
Does the insurance cover the Full cost of replacement, i.e. the value you're claiming? There must be some limit there.
Regarding timing, can they provide examples of that timeline? You may have read here or elsewhere of the multi-month WAit for personal belongings to show up. The goods could go through other EU ports first before arriv ...
I get this question all the time from readers and clients. Most recently while talking with one of my Let's Talk clients last week.
Not too long ago (~2- 3 years or so) this WAsn't possible to do. Or at the very least it WAs really difficult. Now, Bank of Ireland do offer this service to overseas clients. It helps to get your account set up ahead of time for so many reasons - think currency transfer!
So what will you need to do:
BOI require that you get in touch with them through one of a variety of WAys. You can get in touch via phone, Facetime, or even ...
... this is a huge plus for those of you looking to arrive in Ireland and begin working immediately. Previously, people could be WAiting 6 months or more before they could restart their lives. INIS info on that here:
And even more great news WAs in the media this week. If a proposed change by Minister for Justice, Charlie Flanagan, is implemented, applicants for Irish citizenship should be able to leave the country for short periods of time while their application is pending. Full details are still being fleshed out. The Irish Times news article on this topic ...
Hi all I recently got my learners permit in January and on 21st January the law WAs changed to only require 6 driving lessons rather than 12. You have to apply for a WAiver though so do that once you get your permit. The request for a reduction in lessons is now on a form that you print, sign and mail off. Also on the same form is the request for a WAiver of 6 months of required driving before you can obtain your Full license. I mailed off my WAiver request on a Tuesday and received back my approval on the following Wednesday.
Word of caution: many driv ...
... for a US-based company. I’m interested in moving to Ireland for a year or two, mostly for tourism and sightseeing. I plan to continue working for this US-based company, so I’ll have a consistent revenue stream each month (my income is over the 50,000 euro annual minimum listed). Maintaining this online work from the US (I plan to maintain my US address and bank account, so it's easy for my company to deposit my funds. My bank account is entirely online, so accessing these funds from abroad is easy). My savings that I could liquidate, in an emergency, come t ...
Hi everyone.
We are returning to Ireland in August after 10 years in Dubai. We have 10 years driving experience and Full no claims bonus statement. We are finding it difficult to get a insurance that will consider our driver experience here in Dubai. This despite a protocol by Insurance Ireland and the Government posted here on their website:
I have made contact with them and they weren't really able to help. They asked some questions and said they would try but I have not heard any more from them.
Has anyone have experience of getting a quote that is reasonable and the name of an insurance company that could help?
Cheers.
