Hi Jean, I added what I've found about bringing your pet to Ireland to the Pet thread on the forum. You can find it here:

There's very specific paperwork and timing that must be followed. Most of the advice I've seen has been to use a professional pet shipper. The cost is not inconsiderable, you'd best budget at least $1000. For a short term like 3 months, you may be better off looking for a temporary foster home. (I know! NOT what you WAnt to hear. Tanya, I've searched for official Info on this numerous times. I don't think it's public, any maybe there isn't even an official limit. From what I understand, each entry is judged case by case by the immigration person at the entry point. They typically ask length of stay, purpose of visit, etc. If a passport shows numerous entries backed up against each other, maybe they will dig deeper into what a person is doing during their visits. This is one of those types of questions where I like to remind people that this site, and everything you read on here, is not an official/legal source. Just a forum where people help each other out with common questions 🙂 If you find anything, please let us know.

Here's the Info on that At a minimum your child should be able to enter on a tourist visa. If there are questions though, then an explanation of the situation should clear things up pretty easily.
