| RE: Stamp 0 with family? 50,000 EUR per child?? | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Liam | Ireland Move Club General Forum | |
| Hey Sean It's unfortunate you can't get a proper answer from Unit 2. I've heard similar in the past, where they go to little to no effort to explain the details. We've had this question here in the past. Let me see if I can find who asked it. Maybe they've already gone through it. It's pretty clear stamp 0 was never really meant for long term use, and/or for families. It was most likely designed for retirees looking to spend a year in Ireland. Very little thought went into how else it might be used by others. | |||||
| Stamp 0 with family? 50,000 EUR per child?? | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | seanm | Ireland Move Club General Forum | |
| Hello! We are a family of four (two adults, two small kids) considering applying for stamp 0 to do a year in Ireland. The information online says that you need to prove income of 50,000 EUR per person. Can this be, for each child also? So as a family of four would we need to show an income of 200,000 EUR per year?? Other countries with a similar "independent means" visa seem to have a different rule, like a certain amount you must have plus an smaller amount on top per additional family member. For example, in Spain, it's a requirement of about 25,000 ... | |||||

| @countydonegal, Thanks, John. I am not ready to apply for stamp 0 or hire an accountant yet but wondering if you know what types of income are accepted by INIS towards the 50,000 minimum? E.g. I heard in the past that income generated by internet businesses is not counted. Also, the rules mention the term "net income" for the 50,000 minimum but not sure what that term means. Is that take-home income after taxes or other withholdings? Also, if income is paid off-shore e.g. in the US, does that income count or does the e.g. social security check have to b ... | |||||

| Re-reading some of this thread, and I noticed Lori pointed out that you cannot apply for stamp 0 while outside Ireland. While that is true (at least at present) it is only true for citizens of visa-exempt countries e.g. USA. Applicants from non visa-exempt countries e.g. India, must apply from overseas. | |||||

| Hello, Just curious to hear everyone's stamp 4 renewal experiences if you're so kind as to share them. The official website is not very detailed with regards to the process and what documents you need to bring so I was hoping I can get some info here. Thanks a million! | |||||

| I’ve read of few who have engaged a solicitor for the stamp 0 application process. It is pretty straight forward. The one item not on the INIS list that they did request of me after submission was my birth certificate. You may consider including a copy of it; if they need an original you can follow up. I will be interested to see others experience or suggest here. | |||||
