... run www.ukrsa.com and as my business has already spread back to Ireland its probably just as easy to operate from Ireland as it is from the UK. I am originally from Dublin.
Below are "considerations" I am working through and if anyone has any advice based on actual experience, then I would be very pleased to listen.
Broadband - My business needs good Broadband connectivity. I know that there are plans to roll out fast Broadband across Ireland very soon but what is it like around Wexford? Is it Different out in the more rural areas than in Wexford City?

trying to get the right balance of hot and cold WAter, is it? And then someone elsewhere in the House turns on another one, and ruins the balance 🙂
@pam
I originally applied in 2019 and received approval in late October 2019. We were getting our affairs in order (eg sell the House) then COVID hit and we put it off. In August I recontacted Unit 2 at INIS and they said I needed to reapply Same requirements, but I could just send them by email to Unit 2. Much easier. Not sure that is an option for the first time. Hope this helps
... started getting shipping quotes (40' FCL), weeding out the House, Digitizing files, etc. So glad I found this site! I'm on a FB group, and that's been helpful, but this seems to have much more information. TIA for any and all help along the WAy!

Hi all, a very brief account of myself - I left Dublin back in 1968 to see the world. That's now all done, kids grown up and as my business www.ukrsa.com has already spread to Ireland I am strongly considering selling up in Norwich UK and moving maybe to Wexford. I can run the business as easily from Ireland though I would need to use the ferries a lot, hence the Wexford connection (Rosslare) My House could sell for twice what a good 4 bedroomed House will cost in Wexford, so that's good. I would arrive with my Scottish wife and our pet dog. I will post elsewhere re my "shopping list" of issues to Discuss. I have been so long out of Ireland that I don't really feel comfortable there when I run some training courses all over Ireland. So much has changed, could I really fit back in? Liam
Hello,
I am planning on moving to Ireland this summer. I have been looking to purchase a House for my daughter and myself.
I am an American, WAs married to an Irish citizen, and we have a daughter who is now 15.
My husband passed away and he WAs laid to rest in his hometown in Donegal with his parents. We were planning on moving and were looking at Houses when he passed. We make the trip once a year to visit his gravesite and have a chat. We spent a lot on a holiday home so we can stay about 4 to 5 weeks every year visiting friends, sometimes visiti ...
... need to blow through our House within the next week or so to see what exactly we are bringing. A lot of the items will just be cheaper to buy in Ireland, rather than ship. We are fortunate that the House we are renting comes furnished, so the only purchases that will need to be made are linens, tableware, small kitchen appliances (coffee maker, toaster), which will be one major trip to IKEA for us the day we arrive.
The reviews with the shipping company I have mentioned are mixed - half are wonderful and half are terrible. The terrible ones seem to revolv ...
Make sure the House you plan to leave is Sold and paid for
Make sure the House you are moving to has everything you need
Make sure your medical needs can be met.
Fact is that we had done the research before we moved. We made the effort to integrate from day one.
Points if you are moving to rural Ireland, Introduce yourself at the post office that handles your mail, invest in a small generator before the winter (power cuts can happen and could take some time to fix), be sensible/practical about car choice. Remember your neighbours know the area better than you and have lists of maintenance/repair and get things done folk that will take you a long time to generate. Never be afraid to ask what seems like a stupid question it probably isn't.
... the number needed could be skewed by a lot. e.g. living in the countryside vs a Dublin city suburb.
Does that website make known how they are doing their calculations?
Regarding your second question, rural areas are not very well served as of yet when it comes to some services, especially high-speed internet. That's probably the only one that you would really notice though. I don't believe you'd have higher energy costs. The only reason I would suspect why you might is if you lived in an older House, that WAs not energy efficient. All the Houses listed for ...

Congrats, John! Always happy to hear from another successful Stamp 0 applicant. Let us know how things pan out with the House hunt. What part of the country are you thinking of settling down in?
