We married in Denmark last week. Have our apostille marriage cert.
From what I've read, we just need to go to GNIB with passports, certs and proof of address?
Will she be granted stay with work permit from this meeting or do we have to go through an application and potentially see her lose her job post contract expiration or is it that as Simple as above?

Your wife is a nurse as is mine but we moved over just in time for the recruitment freeze in the HSE so the 5 new operating suites @ Portiuncula Hospital that should have been a prime employment opportunity for a theatre nurse didn't pan out that WAy. Chris is currently working in a nursery and worked in a national school as an intern last year. There are nursing opportunities but seeking them out before you move might be wise?

Since Rose WAs successful gaining approval of her financials without an Irish accountant certification, we tried to copy her approach since our pension income statements have a similar government certification. Didn’t work....guessing it just depends on which reviewer you get. But the good news is that the accountant certification is the only outstanding item.
In terms of our police report, we had requested the County Sheriff run a background check. The State Police required fingerprints and it just seemed like a lot of work. My suggestion just l ...
My apologies if this is not the correct place to ask this question, but is ordering from Amazon or Amazon UK (or similar sites) just as Simple as putting in your street address upon check out? Do they deliver packages directly to a home, or do you get a notification to pick it up at the Post Office?
Hi Kevin, have you read this post on the blog? Dealing with Electronics and relocation
A Simple plug adapter will work for a lot of items - e.g most computers, phones, cameras etc. The bigger stuff probably should be left behind, or else you'll need to have a heavy duty converter hooked up to everything. Check the electrical info on the device/appliance you're hoping to bring to see if it's rated for the Irish system.
Electrical Appliances:
Hi All,
As I sort out what to take and what to give away before packing the 20 ft. container I hope to fill, I am curious about what electrical appliances I should/could take. Does anyone know what it would take to take, say, a printer, record player, etc and adapt them for use in Ireland? I know that a Simple adaptor plug won't work but if there's a feasible WAy of doing it without rewiring the house I'd be interested.
Thanks
Kevin
Hi John
I reached out to a past contributor on the site. He is a Managing Director of a moving company based in Ireland. I think you will find his answer to your question quite useful. I'll post it below here. Let me know if you WAnt me to put you in touch. ~Liam

Buying a container and shipping it as user owner is certainly possible. If he WAnts that option there should be no reason why he can’t find a mover or a freight company to co-ordinate that for him. After clearance on this side, we (potentially we) would arrange haulage from the port with a ...
Hi Folks!I just WAnted to write and thank you so much for all your information. We have been in Ireland for just over two months now, (March 2019) and we are on Stamp O, made so much easier by all the information here. First, the list of all the extra things needed, not listed on the INIS website, WAs a godsend. We had background checks from a website, and we included a letter from our local chief of police. we included our marriage certificate and our birth and baptismal certificates. We hired an Irish accountant, referred to my by a friend, who looked at o ...
Hi there,
We are moving back to Ireland in a few weeks after 11 years in the USA. I went to set up international mail forwarding and realized its not as Simple as on the opposite end (Ireland to USA). It seems USPS don't really do this!! Can anyone recommend a good mail forwarding service that doesn't cost an arm and leg?
Thanks!

... I need to have has got me really intimidated. I WAs just wondering, if we got married in Canada (it’s a far more Simple process in Ontario...) would that marriage be recognized in Ireland and would I still be able to get permission to remain with my Irish spouse? Or am I better off going through these scary interviews (I read the possibility of a second interview) and hoping they don’t feel our intended marriage is just a marriage of convenience?
I worry a lot that they would not be satisfied with the length of our relationship/how often we’ve gone to vis ...
