RE: Stamp 4 Visa Renewal Process | 2 Relevance | 4 years ago | Mairead | Ireland Move Club General Forum
Joey, I have renewed several times now, in the Dundalk Garda station. It went well each time, except getting an appointment was sometimes tricky. Make sure you have that sorted well ahead of the expiry of your previous stamp4. I brought my Irish wife, a recent electricity bill to prove I still live here, my passport, her passport, and my previous GNIB residency card. I brought things that showed I was actively contributing to the economy but they did not want to see those. The first time, they took all my fingerprints on a digital scanner. Each time, they t ...

@laneiger Hi Lori! I received my stamp 0 last summer as well, and am preparing my renewal submission. I am anticipating significant delays due to the virus. I’d be interested in your experience thus far, and expectations. Additionally, I’m curious about the tax implementations in US and Ireland. I have talked to other stamp 0 residents, and researched the topic, but have many varying answers. I am retired with all funds being from investments in the US. Happy to communicate outside of this forum if you are willing. Thanks! JC

Hey Joe, Considering how many times this is asked of me, i don't really consider it an inappropriate question. It's quite possible (IMO), that people who end up in Ireland on a stamp 0, have performed work and received payment for it. In fact I'd be surprised if that doesn't happen. I'm not sure how anybody with authority could find out whether or not that happened, and of course proving it in the case that you describe would be fairly difficult to do. stamp 0 is not intended for people who are going to be working, or seeking work, so I guess performing ...
RE: Stamp 0 person of independent means questions | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Jeanine C | Ireland Move Club General Forum
Welcome John and Paige. I submitted only a full copy of my passport, and no request came for the actual passport. I received a letter yesterday from INIS confirming receipt of my packet. That said, Molly may share her experience with obtaining the actual stamp. For this I understand your passport will be required as this is where they will put the stamp. I intend to go to Limerick or Cork Garda Station should I be granted approval. Good luck!
RE: A few tips for getting Stamp 0 / living in Ireland on "independent means" | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Molly | Ireland Move Club General Forum
Hi Folks!I just wanted to write and thank you so much for all your information. We have been in Ireland for just over two months now, (March 2019) and we are on stamp O, made so much easier by all the information here. First, the list of all the extra things needed, not listed on the INIS website, was a godsend. We had background checks from a website, and we included a letter from our local chief of police. we included our marriage certificate and our birth and baptismal certificates. We hired an Irish accountant, referred to my by a friend, who looked at o ...

I received an approval letter today and requested to mail my passport to INIS by register post along with a consent form of not engaging in any business/employment/benefits etc. Probably they will put a stamp 0 visa on my passport instead of issuing a paper. stamp 0 visa is done now. My next concern is how to register GNIB within 90 days which is another issue. Seems impossible to book any appointment online.
Stamp 4 process for spouse of EU citizen | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Mark | Ireland Move Club General Forum
... the USA. It goes on the market in May. I plan to work from Ireland with my current employer or find a new job, which shouldn't be a problem since I'm in the software industry and have EU citizenship. We are having a hard time understanding how the stamp 4 process works. Does my wife apply during our next visit in April, or can she apply from the USA? Is an application done with both INIS(EU1) and the Garda, or can we just start with the Garda? My employer is in the USA. Will INIS accept a US employer on the UE1 form? Must I be living full time in I ...

RE: Stamp 3 laws suspended and being revised | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | Rebecca Shanahan | Ireland Move Club General Forum
Thanks for replying Liam. The notice about the suspension is kind of hard to find. I’ll attach it here. As far as I can see, this affects ministers of religion, and volunteer workers. We used to be able to get a three year stamp. They did this suspension literally a week before we arrived. Really, I’m asking about the re-entry with a landing stamp for 90 days, just so we would be able to come back and get our affairs in order that we will leave behind, if we are not able to get long term residence.

Hi Brittney, The stamp is an ink stamp which goes in your passport. Another reader kindly shared a picture of theirs with us here : Welcome to the site 🙂 Liam |
