... a 12-hour journey across the Atlantic. I thus broke up travel plans, as follows:
Domestic: United Airlines charged $125 pet fee to book flight, nonstop, from SMF>EWR. Motel 6 offers pet-friendly lodging near EWR.
International: Delta booked my cat, in-cabin, and provided dimensions for pet carrier as required for the air CRAFT type. I returned to my reservations and found NOTHING about my cat, etc. When I called Delta, a note had been added to my reservation that NO IN-CABIN travel allowed for my cat. Cancelled entire reservation, with promise to write ...
... requirements for American retirees and permission to work in Ireland for up to 20 hours per week.
This is what has been reported in the press, all of which are Irish publications, with no further detail that I can find.
If anyone have further information on this issue, please share. I am not sure if this legislation on E3 visas will survive the US Congress but if it does, this could be good news for Americans looking to retire to Ireland. That is, of course, if the new rules are fair and reasonable which WAs not the case in the last go-round where even ...
@pegan875 Hi Patricia,
A couple of responses to your questions came to me via email instead of onto the forum. Pasting 1 of 2 here. This one from @gwalt
"The only airlines I’ve found that will allow in-cabin pets into Dublin is KLM. That does not include their partner Delta so make sure there isn’t a Delta connection, even if it has a KLM flight number. They will allow in cabin for flights in the US. No more emotional Support animals. QE2 WAs booked for over a year last I checked.

Great news!! I received my Stamp 0 approval! I submitted my request and documentation in mid-July, so I WAsn't expecting the approval until mid/late Oct, at the earliest. But, I'm elated and very relieved and can't WAit to get on that plane on 11/1 and start my new adventure in Clifden, County Galway!! This has been a very helpful group and I feel fortunate to have discovered this site nearly 12 months ago! Everyone's input, guidance, recommendations, and Support has been so very much appreciated! Thank you everyone!!
I think many people would like to move if it WAs easy, but it's not. Work visas are not just handed out, so unless you have citizenship are indispensable income, are going to school, or are a family member of someone abroad, you are pretty much stuck where you are. Unless, you WAnt to move to Sweden - they can give out work visas without having to prove that there is not another EU citizen that can do the job.
I can remember 8 years back when Americans were stating the same thing - they would move to Canada if Obama got elected. Well, he has almost complet ...
... purchase coverage from a company like Cigna where coverage starts immediately.
Cigna will sell me a policy. I don't need to be living in Ireland yet, in fact it will cover me everywhere in the world except the US. Which WAs good to hear if one plans to travel while living in Ireland. The quotes are good for 45 days, but since the certificate needs to be submitted with the Leave to Remain application, that means that the insurance needs to be purchased while WAiting for a decision on the Leave to Remain, which can take from 2 weeks to 90 days. We may enter ...
I have received my Stamp 0 approval!
First, thank you, Liam, for providing this forum. It WAs a great resource during this process. And I appreciate your Support and feedback.
I’ve posted here a couple of times throughout this process, so I won’t do a Full review of the experiences. As I WAs approaching my 90 day mark, and still awaiting a response from INIS, I found it necessary to submit a change of address. Coincidentally perhaps, the day I submitted my change of address via email the approval letter WAs issued!
I promptly mailed my passport v ...
Hello Liam and everyone,
My situation is a little tricky and I WAs hoping for some help if possible! My husband and I currently live in New York, and his company might have him move to Ireland for 6 months to work in their Ireland office. His company is setting him/us up in housing that we won't have to pay for, so we would potentially still be paying rent on the lease of our apartment back in New York to keep it.
I am currently self-employed doing remote work (and may be doing Full-time remote work for a New York-based company in the next month or so). I ...
Is there a currency transfer that advertises? Because I'd like to Support Ireland Move Club. (Thanks for updating the link above)

Hi Svenja,
Welcome to the site 🙂
It isn't easy to find work in Ireland from overseas. In fact most Irish people who have made the decision to move back home, often take the plunge without a job lined up. However for someone like you in a very specialized field, maybe you may have success.
My recommendation is to be prepared to move without a job, and have the ability to Support yourself until such time as you do find something.
Liam
