... City of Minneapolis Police Dept, State of MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the FBI. Requests for the FBI and MN BCA required submitting electronic fingerprinting. So, I submitted all three reports that indicated that I had no criminal history or outstanding WArrants, etc. with the Stamp 0 documents.
For health declaration, I had my annual physical and asked my Dr. to write a letter indicating that I WAs healthy, had no underlying conditions and I had completed my Covid vaccinations.
I bought health insurance before I moved to Ireland as ...
I'd be biased, and tell you Cork (hometown) is the best spot to live. I'm sure you'd get many opinions on this though if you ask some locals. Honestly, there's so much outdoor activity no matter where you Settle down. None of the cities are so big that it takes an age to get out to a remote spot for hiking, nature etc. And in Ireland, you're rarely far from a beach, river etc, to enjoy that aspect of life.
There are plenty of websites to point you in the right direction for hiking. One's your familiar with in the US have Irish recommendations too e.g.
There's great little towns a few miles outside most big areas. For example, Middleton in Cork (Jameson's home 🙂 ) is a good little commuter town. Same up near Dublin. Lot's of smaller areas, that still have the small town feel, but are close enough to everything you need with regard to amenities.
For local produce - many farmers sell their harvest right from their front door. Due to the lockdown, my mom got turned around by the Gardai the other day for trying to get to her favorite farm for some vegetables. 5km is the rule, and they were not letting her break it.
Aside from that, and probably easier, there's plenty of weekly farmers markets. You won't have to go too far to find one. Here's some ideas
Have you been to the English Market in Cork City? It's very well known outside of Cork too. Great place to get veg, fruit, meat, flowers, etc. Definitely worth visiting, even as a tourist.
... live anywhere as our work is freelance type stuff which we could do anywhere (although I need to be able to fly to England about once a month for a few days). So we could basically choose any area to live in, the most important factor is meeting our son's needs. We do not WAnt to live right in a City.
I have plenty of experience of negotiating the SN education system in England, but am not sure how it all works in Ireland. How easy or feasible would it be to pick a school, move to very near to it, and apply to get into it?
If we made the huge decision to ...
Hi Folks!I just WAnted to write and thank you so much for all your information. We have been in Ireland for just over two months now, (March 2019) and we are on Stamp O, made so much easier by all the information here. First, the list of all the extra things needed, not listed on the INIS website, WAs a godsend. We had background checks from a website, and we included a letter from our local chief of police. we included our marriage certificate and our birth and baptismal certificates. We hired an Irish accountant, referred to my by a friend, who looked at o ...
If I WAs the UK government, I would put in a simple reciprocal trade policy with the EU. UK tariffs on EU goods would match those Set by the EU on UK goods. Then if the EU WAnts to follow the German Finance members comments about punishing the UK, they would get to hear from their own businessmen selling products to the UK.
... the only ones in our area who have an immigration desk. We went, and gave them our information. They asked that we have proof of our address, which WAs the only thing besides our passport, proof of insurance with private hospital coverage, and the letter, that they needed. They took all our info and said we had about another month before the the deadline for being fully registered with proof of address. So, we also asked about the whole continuous living thing. We told them we have classes on the weekend every other month or so in different countries, and w ...

I then - encouraged by her reply and having a name - sent her an email with several Qs about the Stamp 0. Like Laura and others I've found the requirements listed on the website to be quite vague and WAs seeking to get additional clarity so my wife and I can submit the best possible application. I have not gotten a response back for over 6 weeks.
Questions about the Stamp 0 Application Process
My wife and I are both 50% Irish (she is actually also applying for citizenship via ancestry but since her bir ...
I'm going over to Ireland for the first time in December - I'm staying in Wicklow/Wexford area. I'm sure there isn't anything I won't like and my next port of call would be to move there!
I just need a guide on what and how really!!
I work in London (could potentially ask if job available in Dublin office) if not I would need to get a new job, do you interview by Skype do you have to fly over etc...? - I'm an Executive assistant so my thought process is to try Dublin City Centre for that?
I live in Essex - and own a flat (mortgaged) - what are people's thoughts on property - ideally I would like a house with some land and stables as I have horses and dogs (well I have 1 of each at the moment but when I move I plan to buy more!!) but to start with my horse could stay in Essex with my friend - I can take my dog, but do you rent first in Ireland and rent flat out at home (this does make me nervous though in case people wreck it!) - then buy once you are more Settled in? (6 months I am thinking?)
Any comments or tip or hints! And in particular any areas that people think would be good and rural for me to check out but not too far from Dublin would be great! Thanks all! 🙂
Depending on what type of Visa you are applying for you may need to keep health insurance.
For reference of participants not in the US or California. Covered California is the HealthCare Exchange for California, and while I don't know their specific issues, I do know that there have been reports of limited number of doctors, and plans not matching what they were described as.
If you don't file taxes you can be barred from entering the US, have your Passport revoked, estimated taxes Set by IRS, and because of FATCA, FBAR, and some reciprocal agreements between countries there are collection options for the IRS even in Ireland.
Hi Patty! I recommend using a pet relocation service to bring your dogs back and forth. It is very expensive, but I would hate to make mistakes along the WAy because I missed something. I live in California and am using a a pet relocation service based out of Colorado (a referral from a friend). I'm relocating two cats and it is about $4,000 total for me to move them. That's inclusive of their flights, relocation service fees, and Customs fees. I've spent another $400 on brand new airline approved crates and vet visits. My situation is particularly expensive ...
