I forgot to comment on the driver's license.
You probably already know about the license exchange fiasco, right? Basically, you are treated as a new driver. People from some countries can exchange their license for an Irish one, but not US license holders. You have to sit the test, AND take driving lessons. I have some Info here It's a little old, but mostly (if not all) still correct.
You can drive for up to one year on your US license. Definitely get on the Irish license Asap. It can take a while to get an appnt, and the failure rate for the test is quite high, so a re-do is often required. Like everything else right now, Covid is probably playing havoc on this type of thing. Being a Seattle resident, any chance you can get a license over the border? B.C. Canada is one of the eligible licenses for a straight up exchange.
I received this question today from an American student hoping to spend a couple of years in Ireland pursing her post-graduate degree. While the Information I shared back to her WAs specific to post-grad work, there are also scholarships available for undergraduate courses.
It appears each college administers their own scholarship program separate to the other colleges and universities. I’m hopeful that that means you can apply to more than one scholarship program at any one time. (if someone knows otherwise please let us know).

Interesting tidbit Peggy. Sounds overly restrictive. Let's see if Jeanine can help us out with first hand Info. @jaconaty1 Did your approval letter say you can only be outside of Ireland for 10 days max in the year? Really appreciate it if you can offer and insight.
Thanks for the WArm welcome ,Liam...and for the Info!

Hi’ any help or suggestions?
We are selling our US holiday home after 6 years and WAnt to bring back the furniture to use in our home in Ireland.
All the Info I find is based on changing residence which technically we are not. We have had our main home in Ireland all along. Will we be subject to duty and taxes?
Also about 90% of the furniture WAs originally purchased in and shipped from Ireland to the USA 7 years ago because we thought we were moving permanently to the US. That plan changed and we returned to Ireland after 6 months but chose to not sell ...
... option right now for getting help re: Covid issues. It's pricey though! I've moved dogs with their help in the past, and by doing all the work myself. If you can still do it without their help (some airlines insist you use them), then it can be a fraction of the cost.
Did Aer Lingus give you all the requirements? E.g crate size, when/where to show up etc? It has always been the case when I flew with dogs, that you can only book them on the flight, approx 2 weeks before departure. Unfortunately it adds a little stress to the situation, because you have to ...
... to find an international freight company that would accommodate our personally-owned, self-loaded container.
We found Aaltonen international Moving and Storage here in Cork to shepherd our container off the ship, through customs, and to the farm. Working with Kim McEvoy of Aaltonen has been a joy.
In the US, we worked with Sky2C to arrange container pick-up, delivery to port, and transport via container ship. I submitted multiple requests for quotes to international shipping companies in May - lousy time - and they were the only company who responded. I ...
